Itinerary

Itinerary

Once everybody has jumped on board and had a short briefing about how we’re going to spend the day, we’ll be ready to set off eastward towards Amalfi.

The route will take us along some of the Amalfi Coast’s most spectacular scenery, passing close to hidden beaches, dramatic cliffs, natural rock arches and sea caves, while admiring the ancient watchtowers that dot the coastline.

We will pause at beaches reachable only by sea and have time to go snorkeling or swimming in crystal-clear waters and into grottoes.

Leaving Positano behind, we will cruise around Capo Sottile and continue along the coast towards Praiano, where we’ll have the chance to admire the stunning Africana Grotto, a large sea cave famous for its intensely blue water, created by the unique refraction of sunlight.

A little further on, we will arrive at one of the most iconic natural landmarks of the coast: the Furore Fjord, the only natural fjord in Italy and home to the international diving competition MarMeeting. Every July, professional divers from around the world jump from the bridge, 28 meters above the sea.

Entering the western basin beyond Furore, we will enjoy breathtaking views of Praiano, Furore, and the islands of Li Galli and Capri, with the famous Faraglioni Rocks in the distance.

Further inside this basin, we will reach the picturesque Runghetiello Grotto, a small sea cave with a tiny hidden beach.
Here we will anchor for our
first swimming and snorkeling break, with time to relax and enjoy the crystal-clear water. The cave is brightly colored in red and green by the minerals on its walls, making it one of the most unique spots for a dip.

Continuing eastward, we will cruise in front of the charming fishermen village of Conca dei Marini, passing near Sophia Loren’s villa and the historic hotel Il Saraceno, located on La Vite Beach.

From here, we will also have a wonderful view of the Santa Rosa Monastery, a former convent now converted into a luxury hotel. It was once home to Dominican nuns, and it is right in its kitchens that the delicious Sfogliatella Santa Rosa was invented — a must-try local pastry before leaving the coast!

A little later, after passing the beaches of Santa Croce and Duoglio, we will stop by the famous Arc of Lovers, a natural rock arch formed millions of years ago by sea erosion. Its shape is said to resemble two elephants kissing, and until not long ago, young couples used to get married on top of it.

Not far from Amalfi, we will then approach the spectacular Saint Andrew Grotto, a huge sea cave filled with stalactites and named after Saint Andrew (Andrea), the patron saint of Amalfi.

Finally, we will reach the historic town of Amalfi, where we will stop for our second swimming and snorkeling break, enjoying the sea and scenery right below the city before beginning our return journey.

The trip back to Positano will offer a completely different but equally unforgettable perspective of the coast, with new angles, changing light, and the same stunning landscapes all along the way.
